we'll be in love by the morning

I'm so hard for a rich girl
My heels are high, my eyes cast low
And I don't know how to love
I get too tired after midday, lately
I take it out on my good friends
But the worst stays in, or where would I begin?

golden globes

anna paquin in stella mccartney, kate hudson in marchesa, zoe saldana in louis vuitton
ashley olsen in erdem, lindsay lohen in brian lichtenberg, jessica stroup in bally

Please find above the only dresses at the Golden Globes that did not cue off a dramatically bored yawn/eye roll combination.

I know True Blood is supposedly amazing blahblahblah, but let's face it, Anna Paquin never really looks that good. Props, Stella. I actually loathe Kate Hudson when she isn't playing Penny Lane in Almost Famous, but homegirl looked stunning in that white Marchesa. Zoe Saldana in Louis Vuitton speaks for itself. Also, I've loved Zoe Saldana since she played that sassy ballerina in Centerstage in like, the 90's. Honorable mentions go to Chloe Sevigny (who always dresses amazing) in Valentino, Tina Fey in a perfectly structured Zac Posen dress, and Calista Flockhart in Alberta Ferretti (random, I know, but I'm a sucker for skeletal frames in long vintage-y dresses).

The afterparty is where shit got decent. Ashley Olsen, I love you, you can do no wrong, and this Erdem is no exception. Keep being perfect xo. Lindsay, I'm still pretty mad at you for taking down Ungaro with your acting career, but I actually am feelin that hooded mini. I guess we can be friends again. Maybe. Jessica Stroup, kinda boring, but LOVE that color. Honorable mention goes to Camilla Belle in Giorgio Armani (but does not beat that Valentino and also that beau McQueen she wore at wherever whenever ago... does anybody else know what I'm talking about?)

All the pastels and strapless-ness made the GG's look like an overly expensive prom. Basically, everyone needs to step up their red carpet game. And if you are Mariah Carey, you should really just step off the red carpet. Sorry.

she don't believe in shooting stars, but she believe in shoes and cars

Sam Edelman Zoe Boot, Dolce Vita Trinity Pumps, D&G Suede Wedge Booties, Kate Spade Heart Pumps

Currently listening to: The Black Keys, "When the Lights Go Out"
Currently obsessed with: the perfect shoe

I need all of the above. Need. Now. Seriously. When I slip my greedy little size 6 feet into a pair of absolutely perfect shoes, I can hear the angels sing. It's not crazy, it's love. I stumbled upon the zoe boot while imaginary online shopping during my Econ class last semester and haven't stopped dreaming of them since. And an all-studded pump? Yes please. D&G, I die. Seriously the perfect basic wedge at the perfectly obnoxious height. And Kate Spade heart pumps, you guys are so cute I just wanna pinch your cheeks and take you out to dinner. Sigh.

Meet me in Montauk

I could die right now, Clem. I'm just... happy. I've never felt that before. I'm just exactly where I want to be.

Currently listening to: Beck, "Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometimes"
Currently obsessed with: Clementine Kruczynski

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind kills me. The first time I saw it was when I was in high school dating a guy who worked at Blockbuster, and we skipped school to watch half the movies that had come in the previous day. I fell in love, he didn't get it.

The concept of being hurt so badly by someone you love so much to the point of wishing you'd never met them is just so simple and relatable, so to have that entire feeling scripted out and fit to this real couple is amazing. And I respect that it's scripted to fit a real couple... The kind of couple who say weird shit and fight over stupid shit and have sex on couches. That's real. Everything about that movie is so abstract but so real at the same time. Respect.

How happy is the blameless vestal's lot!/The world forgetting by the world forgot/Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!/Each prayer accepted, and each wish resigned.

I'd take you where nobody knows you and nobody gives a damn

Currently listening to: Wolf Parade, "I'll Believe in Anything"
Currently obsessed with: sweet potato chips

I'm a fan of songs that really get it... the ones that ooze into your ear holes and touch you in this freaky way that makes you cry or feel enlightened or just plain happy. If you haven't listened to this song, preferrably really loud and while driving alone, you should. "It'll change your life, I swear."

baby, you're a big blue whale

*Note- blue, silk, dry-clean-only top experienced death by taquito dribble shortly after this picture was taken. Took it as a sign from God that I can no longer eat preservative/carb filled Mexican deliciousness without experiencing dire consequences to my appearance.

Currently listening to: Sublime, Second Hand Smoke
Currently obsessed with: Sam Edelman Zoe boots

Heading to the Badfish concert at the Starland tonight... Apparently, "Sammi" and "Ronnie" from MTV's "The Jersey Shore" will be hosting. This is perplexing to me. They would be better suited MC-ing a Tiesto concert. Also, I put their names in quotations because I do not consider them real people.

Keepin on rockin in the free world.

i've got some secrets that'll make you stay

Currently listening to: The Strokes, Is This It
Currently obsessed with: Essie nail color in Over the Top

As a part of my personal re-vamping for the new year, I've decided to spill my guts via blog on everything that goes through my fashion/music/beauty/dance obsessed brain.

I woke up this morning dazed and confused due to over-indulging in bubbly consumption last night. However, after looking at my beautifully steel-painted nails, I vaguely remembered giving myself a drunk manicure at 2. Drunken late-night manicures usually result in pillowcase-imprinted nails, but, by some new year's miracle, my nails are now an even-coated charcoal grey, yum.

In celebration of 2010, here are my obligatory new year's resolutions:
1. Read more
2. Eat less white carbs
3. Do more yoga
4. Be less of an angsty bitch.... maybe
5. Listen to more music, everyday
6. Learn to let go of things- old clothes, shitty people, bad habits

Happy New Year! Stay good-lookin'.
